Bread Machines and GF White Bread Recipes

Post by TREESE »

Greetings, ALL - I've searched the Forum for something positive being said about buying a Bread Machine to make GF White Bread in. I found one actual successful recipe from 2012 in a "Dee's Kitchen" post that used a Bread Machine. But most posts said they tried and gave up rather quickly to make GF bread, even with a machine.

I am contemplating buying a West Bend Bread Maker with an actual GF Setting on it that can make up to 3 lbs of Bread at a time. Has Anyone here found success making GF Bread using one of these more modern Bread Machines?

Has anyone found more Updated Bread Machine Recipes for GF White Bread than the one I mentioned?

Suggestions are also welcome.

I Miss Bread terribly! This flare-up I am presently going through stopped all bread eating cold. And I'm a Big fan of bread. Though quite skinny; by nature, I suppose. (Thyroid checked out fine twice already.)

Coffee and Bread...Really the hardest 2 things Not to be able to have...sniff sniff. I guess that is why I am asking about this now, instead of waiting until I am in remission again. Trying to give myself something to look forward to.

Thanks, Everyone, for all your sharing and assistance!

Blessings,

Hi there
understand that you miss bread terribly....
trust me when I say over time that huge cravings will abate once wellness improves.

my thoughts
dont spend the money. Bread does not have much nutritional benefit nor will assist healing.
in the early stages of life with MC, focus on bang for you buck meals. ingredients that will provide good nutrients, and assist healing.
and many people struggle with various flour blends as you only need to react to one of the 8-10 ingredients of the flour blend and you will react to the bread.

good options for 'bread replacements' is high protein /pre cooked veges savoury muffins (with small amount of flour)

hope this helps

Hi, Gabes - Thank you for your Reply about Bread and Bread Machines. Can you please help me understand when you say...

I am not sure what veges savoury muffins are. Is that something available in New York? Where would I buy them? Or do I have to make them from scratch? Do they come in boxes of pre-mixed ingredients? Forgive me, please, but is veges short for vegetable?
And does savoury mean savory?

I would like to follow your guidance so I would very much appreciate your giving me a bit more information, please.

Thank You so much!

Thanks, TEX!

I will check out that thread!

I mailed my 2nd EnteroLabs test specimens today and when I get the results, I will then know more about how and what to include in those veges savoury muffins that Gabes suggested.

Still not sure if VEGES means "vegetable" or "vegan". Do You know?

Or I'll just wait for Gabes to reply when she has time. These are not urgent questions so no pressure!

Thanks again,

Hi, Gabes!
So where you live you have your own ways of shortening words...I get it now, thanks!

About what you said; Good options for 'bread replacements' is high protein /pre cooked veges savoury muffins (with small amount of flour)"

Do you have a particular recipe that works for you or must each person decide according to their own food sensitivities?

I'm thinking something really basic to start with like only a few basic ingredients?

I saw the thread Tex recommended but frankly, there were so many variations that I wouldn't know how to begin. Or what basic items to stock up on for baking them.

Any basics to buy? Any personal new-comer recipes to try?

Thanks again!

So far as what to try - based on the information in the guidelines to recovery eating plan etc
early stages, keep meals and snacks to minimal amount of ingredients (no more than 5)
as you are doing the enterolab testing I would wait till you have these results before you embrace baking

once you know what are your safe meats / safe veges then you can embrace the various recipes
dont over think it too much
the various recipes have the basic foundation - it is just adding meat and vegetables etc suit your tastes.

we learn as we go along,
Gabes Ryan
