Is SOY Reactivity As Damaging As GLUTEN for CC?

Post by TREESE »

Hello, Forum Friends - I have had CC since 2015 and had eliminated Gluten because of Diarrhea. Now, 2020, I found out (through my 2nd Entero Labs, which I took last month because of a flare-up from having gone off my GF Diet...yes totally DUMB :mallet:) that I am also reacting to SOY and TREE NUTS. I wasn't, back in 2015. So....

QUESTION: I know with eliminating Gluten, one must be Very careful not to even use the same utensils as others or share toasters, and the like. But, what about SOY and TREE NUTS? Are the Restrictions the same as with Gluten?

QUESTION: Do those types of allergens also cause Diarrhea like GLUTEN reactivity does, or do they cause the body to react in different ways?

QUESTION: Do they damage the small intestines like CC, also?

All Replies will be greatly appreciated!

no one ingredient is worse than the other

inflammation is inflammation - inflammation is not good for the body

whether it be stress triggers, food triggers, toxin triggers, any ongoing trigger is going to hinder healing and cause symptoms.

I understand that you are keen to 'dissect' this knowledge, fully understand everything and take the knowledge and make it black and white.
(you are not the first)

my suggestion is - don't get to bogged down on details/defining everything and making it black and white.

Life with MC is about listening to your body, not overthinking, (don't be obsessive) figure out what works for you, what doesn't work for you and make that your daily routine.

Everyone is different!! there are many here that have NO reaction to soy. There are even some that don't react to gluten.
for others the smallest smallest amount causes days and days of hell.

one of the sayings i have used in MC world - there is no right way or wrong way - there is your way.

Hello, Gabes - I have the kind of mind that wants to understand things clearly, so I can know what to do and then just do it. But, as you have said, this is more about listening to your body than understanding every aspect of it in your mind.

I guess with so many physical limitations as I already have due to chronic back pain for 30 years, and for the last year now, heel pain has become an added issue, this flare-up just seems like the straw that wants to break this camel's back.

I'm a strong person, but I'm not coping very well right now. Especially with the 10 lb weight loss. But as you have said, no real way of knowing when the weight will come back on. Just keep listening to your body and eating well.

Good News is that my GI has reduced my Budesonide this week to only 1 pill a day...YAY!! So the GF and now Soy free and Tree-Nut free diet is working! No "D" in over a month! :bear:

Thanks, Gabes

The limitations and ongoing symptoms will not be for ever.

Healing journey takes years, not months.

With clean eating, clean lifestyle, functional treatments and fixing nutrient deficiencies, over 5 years of focussed healing and clearing toxins I have fixed lifelong health issues.

Have faith. You can heal.

Congrats on the reduction of meds.
