Flare worse in the morning?
Of course just approaching Christmas I have a flare of unknown origin. I noticed like always that the WD is worse in the morning. Does anyone know why this is?
Re: Flare worse in the morning?
Hi,
Sorry to hear that you're in a flare. I'm guessing that this pattern is because the digestive system slows down during sleep, so that upon awakening, the body's activity level prompts the digestive system to become active, and it instinctively feels a need to purge the system. If you watch livestock, for example, cattle and horses that have been lying down and either sleeping or resting for hours, almost always defecate upon arising. When we're in a flare, MC just encourages us to "raise the bar", so to speak.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thank you Tex! I get up earlier now. I guess I forget that I am in fact an animal!
