Hi! I was wondering if anyone else is having to take prescription strength Potassium, because of your colitis? I have been taking it, for over 5 years now. Thanks JoyPremature Ovarian Failure at 32, Superficial Malignant Melanoma at 40, LC at 41. Severe osteoporosis of lower spine at 52, Hypothyroidism at 53.

Way back before I figured out how to control this disease, and changed my diet, i ended up in the ER a couple of times. Each time, the ER doc diagnosed a deficiency, and prescribed a potassium supplement. But the prescriptions were only for two-week treatments. Since changing my diet, and recovering, my potassium level has always been in the normal range. Maybe you have a genetic issue that interferes with potassium absorption.
