Tex***Ticks

Post by annie oakley »

Tex, have you seen any ticks yet? The first I saw was two weeks ago. Then Just a few minutes ago Mike and I went to inspect the road he is cutting and when I got back to let the dogs out I had a tick on my jeans. Just let me say..........Euwuwuwuuuu, yuck, phew!!!!!!!! :yikes: :hyper: I hate Ticks worse than roaches!!!!!! I checked everything good and found no more so far....will see around shower time. I can handle dog fights, snakes(with pistol in hand) critters of all manner.........but a durn Tick.......Double yuk-a-roo!!!!!! :shithead: doesn't even cover what I think of ticks. My Buckmaster is black and red......SO I really have to use a fine tooth comb on him at times. But I feed them Garlic in the summer time . I need some Guinea's around here....they eat ticks. :chicken: I will be checking myself til I shower. Mikes cutting down old deseased mesquites and dead ones and cutting a road directly to his deer feeder. Love Oma

Oma,

Ticks are pretty scarce around here these days, due to the imported fire ant. It's a good thing they were imported, or some environmental group would surely be suing U S Fish & Game, to force them to restrict ranchers' and farmers' use of fire ant habitat. LOL.

What I always hated the worst about ticks, was that I usually didn't discover them until they had already attached themselves. Yep, ticks suck, in more ways than one. LOL.

I didn't know that guineas ate ticks--That's good information. Thanks.

Love,
Wayne

Oma,

I forget if its Advantage or Frontline that you get at the vets, but one of those kills ticks. We had an awful tick year last year...I was finding them on Tigs right up until Thanksgiving which is late for us. Those flea/tick repelant (horrible pesticides) are a bit expensive, but I find they last longer than the 1month they recommend. So I don't redose until I have evidence that they have them. Jessie is super sensitive and gets hot spots if there is one flea in the house. And so far with Tigs what I find are dog ticks not the itty bitty deer ticks.
