Biopsy results

Post by Wexford792 »

Hi guys...had my colonoscopy yesterday and all went well. My dr. took several biopsies to determine if I do have microscopic colitis. Just curious how long it typically takes for results to come back? Anxiously waiting...thanks in advance:) Thankful to find this group...even if negative, and I’m labeled with IBS-D, I’m considering trying the elimination diet...a place to vent.

They may have the results in a few hours, but it it 's usually a few days or so before the results are available to the patient.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks, Tex. My results came in this morning and I do have lymphocytic colitis. Guess my journey begins...

Good luck with your recovery. Expect some bumps along the road, and don't let that discourage you. Patience and perseverance eventually prevails.
