Hi Brandy and Linda,

The weather is beautiful today. Sunshine. light breezes, temperatures up in the 70s. But the eight days prior to last Friday blessed us with an Alaskan nightmare that started and ended with severe ice storms, and included heavy snow, sub-zero temperatures, and widespread power and water supply outages. We fooled it though — we managed to survive, anyway. Everything (including mail delivery) was shut down all week, until Friday. The ice storm damage to the trees left them looking like they were in a war zone, or a tornado. And because of the power outage, a lot of plumbing repairs will be needed. There'll be lots and lots of cleanup work and repairs around here. It appears that this area must have been right in the center of the worst damage from the ice storms. We're not set up to deal with that kind of weather here in Central Texas. It always stays well north of us (Until this storm).

I hope it didn't do as much damage in Florida.

Well, Tex, that sounds like a typical winter in PA!

I’m sure it was a scary week for you all, though.

Glad it’s over and warm again! Take care!

That's one of the main reasons why I don't live in PA.

Tex,

I hate that you all have had to go through this terrible weather. I'm praying it's over. I'm in Ky and we've had the snow, ice and now we're worried about flooding, which happens every 5-6 years.

Stay safe, love to all!

I hope the flooding doesn't get out of hand. We can handle the snow and ice here, as long as we have power. But after the power is off for several days, things tend to get out of control rather quickly, with day after day of bitter cold temperatures.
