Hello:
I am new to the message board. I have had Lymphocytic Colitis for about a year and have been through two courses of the Budesonide which worked great but symptoms came back within two weeks each time.
I am working to adjust my diet but have lost a substantial amount of weight. I am down to around 130 lbs from 155. Can you recommend anything to help gain some weight back?
Also. I am a NY resident so I am not allowed to order testing from Enterolab. Any suggestions?

Re: Weight Loss & Enterolab Testing
Hi,
Welcome to the group.
For residents of New York or Maryland, who aren't allowed to order the EnteroLab tests directly, the solution is to have a friend or relative from across the state line to order the tests for you, and then you can drive over and pick up the test kit (or they can ship the kit to you). After you collect the sample, you can cross the state line again and ship the sample back to the lab.
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

Welcome to the group.
Yes, when you stop the inflammation that causes this disease, you will automatically begin to gain weight again. Attempting to gain weight while you're still reacting is an exercise in futility. Save yourself all the frustration and don't worry about your weight. It will return when you get the disease under control.famichd0 wrote:Can you recommend anything to help gain some weight back?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Re: Weight Loss & Enterolab Testing
Thank you very much Tex! I've learned so much from these boards already and have only read through a fraction of the information. Before finding this site, I was very worried and distressed about my long-term health and quality of life. You all have given me plenty of hope.
Re: Weight Loss & Enterolab Testing
It can be a very challenging disease, but we can learn how to control it, by avoiding all the foods that cause the information in our particular case.
