Last night I was feeling crappy still after work. My daughters wanted to go to the park to play, I wasn't feeling good, but I decided to go anyway and drove (just in case). I felt better after doing that. Strange.

This morning, I'm feeling better, but still have a funny feeling in my lower GI, in the area below my belly button. My stools seemed more well formed this morning as well.

I also worked out this morning.

For my foods today and previous days see my fitday account link in my signature.

Also of note besides removing the rice I also haven't been taking my multi vitamin, C vitamin, E vitamin and fish oil caps.

Also, for those who don't frequent the Recipes and Cooking Tips forum here I was wondering if this catsup is ok. Go to this post. http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=254

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, the ketchup looks OK - but the questionable things are "onion powder" and "organic spices".
If the onion powder is simply dried onions that have been pulverized then it's OK - however, if some ingredient has been added to it like an anti-caking agent it could contain gluten.
Organic spices - basically the same issue - anything added to the spices? We don't know. What brand of ketchup is it?

If you want a safe ketchup try the Muir Glenn brand. I eat it every day (Polly recommended it long ago and I've been hooked on it since then).

Love,
Karen

Thanks, those two ingredients I was unsure of as well. It's a store brand, but I can get the manufacturer when I go home tonight.

I'll look for the Muir Glenn brand. Where do you find it?

Last night I had a bit of a panic attack. :( I got through it. It was mainly the being worried about being stuck in traffic and not being able to get to the bathroom. Ack! After I got through it I was just fine the rest of the evening.

We ate at a Mongolian Grill. I think I did well in making it gluten free, though I bet some gets in since they cook it all on the same grill. I added those baby corns but didn't eat many of them because I'm unsure of corn.

This morning I woke up and was a bit constipated, went only a little bit, but I knew I had to go more. Went to go work out and had no problems going to the bathroom when I got back. It was a leg day including some wonderous walking lunges with 2 55 lb dbs. That kicked my butt! LOL

Anyway I feel a lot better today, had a pretty normal BM, nice well formed stools. A bit darker in color from normal and they floated which isn't normal for me either.

For today's foods see my fitday log below.

Friday evening I felt a little funny in my stomach, but mostly ok.

Saturday I felt great, no problems what so ever but I'm not sure how good I ate because...

Sunday I didn't feel good again. :( Area below my belly button was achy/sour.

Friday can be found in my fitday journal.

Saturday was the following from what I can remember:
1 banana
1 orange

4 strips bacon
Roast - My wife seared it with flour
Potatoes
Carrots
Onions
Salad
Balsalmic Vinegar
Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper
Crushed garlic

Sunday - from what I can remember today
Banana
4 strips Bacon
Orange
Jerkey
1 cup Blueberries
A bite of Padsiew - Thai
A bite of broccoli+ Peanut sauce - Thai
1 Serloin Beef Patty
Potatoes
Onions

Ok yesterday, Monday morning I wasn't sure how I was going to feel. I worked out. Had a rather large amount of BM. Close to norman as far as the type. The rest of the day I felt great.

Today, I had a normal BM. Feeling great so far.

What in the heck was it?

Hi Mike,

I'm glad you are feeling better today. The way you describe your BMs and your general well being you seem to almost have things under control. You asked where I buy the Muir Glen Ketchup. Unfortunately I have not found a regular grocery store that carries it but I buy it in the HF store. Just grab a couple of bottles so you don't have to go often.

I read your Saturday and Sunday menu.
I assume you know the flour-seared roast wasn't a good choice as far as GF is concerned?! This could have made you miserable for days....

What kind of jerky have you found that is safe? Do you make your own? I cannot remember why I can't find any store bought jerky that's OK with me but it is probably the corn (sugar). Have you checked the label for gluten?

The of course there is the salad.....

Were all of those veggies raw?

And then the Thai sauce - what did it contain?

And then the peanuts......

You eat so MANY things that I cannot even begin to touch before I have explosive results. Maybe you need to think about simplifying your menu a little - it will be easier to monitor the results of what you eat if you don't eat such a HUGE variety of foods in such a short time. I know, it's normal to eat the way you eat; but our digestive systems are not quite normal, are they? It will get better, I'm sure. Keep up the good work!

Love,
Karen

P.S. You should have stellar glutes with the walking lunges you do - that's one of my favorite leg exercises. Kicks Butt :barbell:

Yeah, almost, today I'm not feeling so well. LOL Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it.

Yeah, I realize that now. :) I didn't find out until after the fact. :(

I'm not sure that the jerkey I eat is safe. I'm pretty sure it's not, but here are the ingredients:
Beef, corn syrup solids, dextrose, hydrolyzed corn and soy protein, salt, natural smoke flavor, flavorings, water, vinegar, sugar, molasses, sodium erythorbate, carmel color, citric acid, sodium nitrite. Yummy!

I really need to find a good recepie and do it. We bought a dryer for just this purpose and I've yet to use it. :( Procrastinator that I am.
The of course there is the salad.....

Were all of those veggies raw?
Veggies in the salad were raw, but I eat salad pretty much every night.

If I have broccoli, spinach, peas they're always cooked.
And then the Thai sauce - what did it contain?

And then the peanuts......
Good question. Don't know, but I'm sure it probably did. Won't do again, but damn it's sooooo yummy. :(

Yeah, it's been rather difficult at times. The largest variety ends up being either the weekend or dinners. As my wife prepares dinner most of the time. I can simplify things for myself, but my wife gets upset when I do. :(

Oh man, those kill don't they. I love em too, I can't believe how high my HR gets when I do them. Pretty much up towards MHR territory. And boy do those glutes feel good the next day or two.

Ok today I'm not feeling so good. Woke up and felt achy below my bellybutton. First BM was almost normal, but felt like it burned a little in my GI and when I went. Worked out. Had another BM when I got back home after working out. This one was more loose stool, floated. Felt better after I went but still feel a little funny today.

I've been more gassy the last day or so.

I noticed that I have had a bit more fiber than normal. Around 40 g as opposed to 30 g or so. Doesn't seem excessive to me.

I think I might try to cut the corn and corn related products to see what that does.

Just when I think I've got things figured out. :???:

Ack! Felt icky last night, sour/achy lower stomach. Lots of gas.

Felt the same this morning and now. Still lots of gas. Not sure what's giving it to me though. Perhaps I'll post the last serveral days of meals though it all can be found at my fitday account (link below in my signature).

My wife bought a whole bunch of gluten free stuff yesterday. Gotta love her! Oh man was it some good stuff, haven't tried it yet, but I'm drooling. Stuff for pancakes, waffles, cookies, pastas, catsup, soy sauce, the works.

Hi Mike,
I read that you just got a bunch of gf mixes. I notice that for me the ones that are rice flour, tapioca flour mixes I do better with, but the ones with much potato flour in them "set me off". That's probably due to potato flour's high sulfite level, but I don't really know for sure.
Anyway, I just thought I'd mention it, as long as you're going to be monitering how you do with them. . . your wife sure sounds like a nice person. Say hi to her for me!

Thank you! Great to know. Potatoes doen't "seem" to bother me, but perhaps the flour might.

Yeah, my wife made my day. It's so hard for folks who don't have to live with this to understand, but I think she knows better now.

Friday June 10th
Woke up feeling like I was going to have diarrhea. BM was near normal, a bit less formed though. I've had to go several times since then and they've all been pencil thin, floating, bits at a time. Still feel like I'll have diarrhea. I feel so sick that I don't want to go to work yet.

I decided to have some yogurt this morning, perhaps I'm making a big mistake, but I thought I'd try it. I'm also trying some pepermint tea.

Hi Mike

Love your fitday. I am having problems with nuts & I notice your nut intake is a little high. Have you been eating them all along? Lots of fruit too & I can't do that much fruit yet. I also just bought some GF items & plan to bake & cook this weekend. Love & light, Rita
