Thanks for the reassureance Wayne. I felt a little wobbly after the deja vu comment. It's always a good lesson in humility to be wrong, so I value that! And this has also got me thinking about re-testing the ghee. It may be an hidden food intolerance that will only be clear by stopping for a few weeks and starting again. So I appreciate your thoughts on this. Celia

Celia,
I'm soooooo sorry you took that wrong!!! I didn't mean anything by it. Like Wayne said, we went through this on the other board.
I really hope you can use ghee, it would be a nice addition to a restricted diet.
Love, Jean

Be kind to everyone, because you never know what battles they are fighting.
Morning, Celia,
Have you ever checked out this site? Dr. Roby suggests that five days is the magic number for the number of days of withdrawal from a suspect food, in order to get maximum sensitivity on a retest. He has some other good tips, also.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Celia and all you veteran "Intolerants" LOL!
Thank you for causing a stir - it is great to read this and to refresh this. One of the reasons that there aren't any more of these kinds of discussions here is that most of us are already "old and experienced" with our diets; but you should have seen the discussions in the old GF Kitchen when we were all trying to learn it and tested everything and shared experiences - wow, the waves where high and choppy at times. It was VERY interesting and I appreciate your curiousity and that you bring up the issues here. This forum has needed new people for a loooooooong time - intelligent and courageous ones like yourself - so Thank You for making waves I know I don't speak for myself only when I say this. Welcome to the club.
Ghee!!!!!!!! I didn't have the courage to test ghee on my own body while most of the other GF Kitchen members were testing it last winter - I was still sick more often than I was well because I didn't have my diet under control yet; I didn't want to do anything that was risky since my greatest wish and fondest dream was to be free of diarrhea - I just listened and read the "test results" that came in from other GF Kitchen dwellers and I knew I wasn't going to open my jar of purified butter.
Celia and Andrew - please, let us know if you continue to enjoy the product; perhaps there are other people out there who would have similar good luck with it.
Love,
Karen

Maggie and Karen,
It's great to get your perspective and encouragement! Thanks. I'm off ghee for the moment but will try it again soon. I ate something counterindicated on my travel day back from St. John and haven't been able to fully recover. No D., that's rarely a problem for me at this stage.
It's really wonderful to be part of this group. Celia
