This topic made me laugh so hard and not feel so alone. For years I have suffered from CC and probably was not even aware I had it, was told I had IBS for years. Anyway, Ive had the terrible trauma of shitting myself in public places so I totally understand these stories. Worst possible places I shi* myself was at work and I am a nurse! Both times luckily I was able to escape being found out and change scrub pants but for years I have brought extra scrubs to work just in case! I have had so many times I have had to run into a local fast food restaurant to use the bathroom, someones air b nb, random gas stations (only being told I had to buy something and hurridly trying to buy something without crapping down my leg. There was a period of time where I had to stop at this specific mcdonalds in the morning because I would need the bathroom and get a sudden urge around that time, they probably thought I was crazy lol!. I havent been desperate enough to pull over to the side of the road but have used a couple random port a potties.

I have done this, too! And I really enjoyed overseas travel until this year of course. I was mainly helped by the fact that long air travel is constipating, at least for me--except one time that it wasn't, on my way to Indonesia. Luckily the bathroom wasn't far away (unlike other travelers I try to get a seat near the toilet. And my worst episodes were late at night, so there wasn't a line. Somehow I have managed--in Mexico, I think I got Montezuma's revenge on top of microcolitis--I gave my room maid an extra tip for the cleanup she had to do. Glad I had lots of Imodium handy.

I'm glad to have found this forum but I see that nobody really posts on here any more. I am newly diagnosed and need someone to turn to. reading the old posts helps because having these accidents doesn't change no matter what the date. I'm sorry for you all but thank God I'm not the only one. Trust me I DO thank GOD too because I pray every time I'm not near a toilet :(

I've noticed that since this site had an upgrade the usage has gone down a little too with posting....I visit, but because my body fluctuates constantly I can say I have good days and not so good days and feel I have learned most of what I need to adhere to from my last 5 years of asking millions of questions. So I hope no one gives up and hangs in there.....like myself I am sure some of the oldies are lurking around and will be more than happy to chime in as needed.

I keep hoping for some kind of helpful healing medication or an ah-ha moment that my body has when I begin to eat the correct things in unison! The stress of this last year hasn't been the best on my mind/body so hope this is a bump in the road so to speak.

Even me....after healing for 5 years on my 6th year now.....I had my first shart myself in my sleep that bummed me out so bad I was in shock How does this happen after doing as much of theh right thing as one can....I will say that I was in the middle of taking care of a cold (which hung on because Spring and allergy season is not helpful either) so perhaps my bodily functions were exhausted

Anyway....YES it happens to all of us at one point or another.... After the humility of it I did laugh....what am I going to do cry? That isn't going to help solve anything.

I am only in my 2nd month but diapers have been a lifesaver. I have avoided going out and need to find a more discreet undergarment when I can leave the house for things other than doctor appointments. I haven't cried but I haven't laughed much yet. Thankful for this forum. People seem to be less than supportive having never crapped the bed or floor.

I was on Entocort for 6 years. Finally I had enough and started taking digestive enzymes with pre and pro biotics. I also take a dose of Metamucil in the evening. I've made this work for over a year, but one wrong thing goes in my mouth and I spend the future in the toilet. My next to the last adventure was at Wal-Mart where I threw away good underwear and shopped without them...lol. I carry an extra pair in my purse and always carry prepackaged flushable wipes. I know all the bathrooms and out houses in a 3 county area. Considering writing a regional guide for my area fellow sufferers with ratings on facilities and safe places to eat.
