Hi Everyone -
My name is Heidi - I was diagnosed with MC in 2013.
I have been of very frequent reader of this board but I have never posted before. I wanted to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for all the solace, hope, advice, support, companionship and even laughter you have given me over the last 8 years. I don’t know what I would have done without you. I’m still in the thick of it, trying to
live in some semblance of harmony with this fickle beast of a disease.
Your generosity and patience and kindness is truly inspiring. I’m sure there are many other lurkers like me, who have relied on you all for your wisdom and humor and
knowledge. Tex, a very special thank you to you for all that you do to help us all. I truly think of you all with deep gratitude every day.
Sending love and respect and thanks to all you potty people!
Heidi
Thank you all!

Re: Thank you all!
Heidi,
I hope you don't mind my cut n' pasting a message I put on another thread as it is pertinent. I honestly think Tex deserves a medal.
Hi Tex,
Without this forum I would never have discovered:
a) cholestyramine
b) to move the dose of cholestyramine to after eating, which made ALL the difference in terms of its efficacy
c) LDN
d) that budesonide is often needed for longer periods.
These factors have (thus far, at least), been instrumental in my apparent remission. I am fortunate, too, that my GI has been hugely supportive. But the ideas came from this forum alone. I honestly don't know what I would have done as I would have not have come across the remedies that seem to work for me, and they were not on my GI's radar until I brought them up. Fortunately, she has been receptive and willing to let me try out alternative regimes.
You are a absolute hero for the work you do, for your unrelenting dedication, and tireless compassion.
THANK YOU.
Sincerely,
Paul

Re: Thank you all!
Welcome Heidi. It's good to see a post from you. And many thanks to you and Paul for your very kind words. Remembering the depressing experiences of those early years before I discovered how to control my symptoms, makes your remarks so very meaningful for me, and I sincerely appreciate them. I hope that we'll all be able to control our symptoms over the years to come, and enjoy life to the fullest. Despite Covid, and all the other problems today, it's still a wonderful world out there, as long as we're not prisoners in a bathroom.
All my best,
Tex

Re: Thank you all!
Short note to agree with the others here on their gratitude to Tex Persky and this forum!
I have learned SO much since my MC diagnosis a few years ago. A few bumps in the road of course as is the case for so man of us as MC is seldom a straight line. Got it under control initially, then had a major relapse that took better part of a year to once again get under control. Currently doing very good and controlling my MC with diet. For that I am very grateful.
I'm not sure I have ever seen a more altruistic person than Tex on helping others with his book and this forum. A thousand thanks. No, a million thanks Tex! We surely do appreciate you!

Re: Thank you all!
Thanks. Yow know, I've learned a lot from each of you who've shared your experiences here. Really, I'm mostly just passing on what I've learned here. We're all learning how to control this disease, together.
