Does anyone have problems with hives/welts for no apparent reason? I went through a phase in my late 20's where I would have hives/welts for no apparent reason (the docs couldn't find one except to say "Stress"). I would have immediate HUGE welts covering my body. Benedryl would help but they seemed to have to run their course. This period lasted about 4 months. The itch was miserable for me.
I am finding that I am begining to have them again. I can't find the culprit in a "different" food or drink or a new lotion or soap. Hmmmmmmmm????
I am unable to take the Benedryl due to the antihistimine causing extreme tiredness. Not an option w/working.
Just curious if anyone has any ideas or if you have experienced the same?
Love,
Mars

Sounds like an allergic reaction of some sort. Pollen? Has a tree recently started budding or leafing out in your area for spring?
Anyway, have you tried benadryl cream? Might control the itch without the systemic tiredness since its topical. Don't know, but thats what I use on bad bug bites and such.

Hey Mars,
I went to bed one night with a horrible pain in my eye and woke up with hives all over my torso the next morning. My doctor thought it was an allergic reaction and told me to take benadryl. It still took a few days to clear.
I think in my case it was a nut...maybe pecans but not sure which. That only happened one time, about a year ago.
Vitamin C and Quercitin are both helpful for lowering histamine levels when we have food or allergy reactions. I just ordered some Quercitin myself and am going to try it out for a month or so.
Hope you find the culprit! Celia

Margie----
My daughter Debbie would break out in megga hives-----but she also had allergies----to cats/dogs --eyes would swell---U could pull the *glop* outta her eyes~~~~and the good old *MOLD* was her enemy too--
Naturally the seasonal POLLEN would kill her too but she didnt want to go for any treatment---
Now, as she grew older--allergies flew away???? she has a CAT--and she volunteers @ the animal center???
So who knows??? Maybe moving to CO. was the medicine that she needed--
