Hi All,
I hope to find everyone well! My family and I have been blessed to be able to quarantine to our home since March. However, we are starting back to school in person in two weeks. I am a little anxious to see how this turns out.
I need to ask some advice. My histamine intolerance is causing me to have irregular periods. I have periods only in the winter months????. Anyway, my GYN dr. has been bothered by this for a couple of years ????. During my annual visit, she put me on 10 days of medroxyprogesterone 10 mg to help me start my period. She says not having one can cause my endometrial wall to thicken and cause abnormal cells to grow. She told me to take this every 60 days unless I have a period.
Does anyone have any experience taking these with colitis? Other than my histamine intolerance, my colitis is somewhat under control. I am stressing about taking these pills. It causes mood swings and I really dread that too.
I so appreciate any advice that you guys can give!
Thank you!

This is interesting. I have had irregular periods now since having COVID. Did you periods ever return back to normal? How did the hormone pills affect your colitis and mood?
Re: Woman Issues Advice Needed
No my periods have not started back. I tired using the 10 day hormone that my doctor prescribed back in Dec. that is suppose to start menstruation but it didn't help. I remember her saying if it doesn't then that means that I have started going through the change. I have been trying to tell her that for 4 years now. Anyway, I am going for my annual visit next month. Hopefully she won't prescribe any more meds and it will show that I have started going through menopause.
It really did a number on my mood. I never have mood swings in my life, so I definitely didn't like that. I can't remember if it affected my bowel movements or not. I think it gave me D though.
Hope this helps and you are doing well!

My grandma was done with the change by her early 40s. My period have been wacky. I'm only 40, but I wouldn't be surprised if I go through the change early too. However, the doctors seem to always brush me off because I'm "too young".
