Mew symptoms for me!

Post by oceanlove1000 »

 I’m new to this forum, I was DX last December with MC. Tried budesonide, made me very sick. Too afraid to try other medications as I also deal with painful constipation. Don’t need a med with that side effect. Plus I’m now so sensitive to things. At times my body, sometimes whole or parts, will go numb, don’t know why. Anyway, last week I started having HORRIBLE cramps in my abdomen. To the point where I can’t stand up straight. I’m not eating anything new. I can feel this lump above my belly button and when I press on it, it hurts. Not sure if it’s bm, or what? Lately it’s been so bad I’ve had to use a hand held massager to rub my whole belly. I would do that a lot with my hand when backed up to be able to go and it sounds like an ocean in there. I’ve even had to get up at 2/3/4 am and massage my stomach because I will wake up with horrible pain. My WD is usually greenish yellow, but today it was very dark and I didn’t eat anything dark. Any thoughts? Maybe the two don’t have anything to do with each other. They say if you have blood in you stool it will look like coffee grounds. But that’s hard to decipher because no matter what color mine is it always looks like grounds of course mixed with mucous. Anyway, just wondering if anyone had any thoughts. I don’t want to run to Dr. and waste time and definitely money if it’s just a “ symptom “ of MC that came on suddenly. Thanks in advance 💜

Hi,

Welcome to the group. Your symptoms sound just like mine, when I was initially reacting, so I'm guessing you're still eating gluten and all the other foods that cause us to react. The lump in my gut was so bad that I was initially diagnosed with colon cancer by both my GP and my gastroenterologist. Both of them knew virtually nothing about microscopic colitis.

If you have constipation predominant microscopic colitis (MC), never, ever take an anti-inflammatory medication, especially budesonide, because those drugs are constipating, so they'll just make your symptoms worse. The loud noises coming from year abdomen are a trademark of MC, and most of us have to deal with them until we're able to get to remission. The color of your stool, depends on how long it remains in your intestines. The longer it's there, the darker it gets, due to a chemical reaction with bilirubin. The greenish yellow color typically comes from reacting to gluten.

Constipation is a symptom of a chronic magnesium deficiency, a problem that doctors will never correctly diagnose.

Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I have the same pain below my belly button when I get bloated. I have a small hernia which is pretty common just below the belly button. MC has made it worse due to the inflammation I guess. The pain increases with a full bladder also.
