I think this is one of your first posts in this group - if that is the case, welcome and sympathies that you have MC and had to find us.

Tex (I think this what you meant when you said Ted) is one of the original founders of this group.
this forum and the wealth of information would not exist without his time and personal funds that keep the site running
the comments you made about tex, his knowledge and asking him not to reply could possibly distance anyone wanting to reply to you.

if you want success stories -
I have been a member for 12 years and in majority of cases, once people have stable remission they dont visit very often. so you may not get many replies (regardless of asking Tex not to respond) The best option is to read the success stories area and for specific topics such as the Mesalamine to use the search function to find relevant discussions.

Welcome,

We have a general success story section. Here is the hyperlink. viewforum.php?f=71

Like Gabes says, the best way to learn about Mesalamine is to use the search function on the forum.

The four primary drugs used to treat MC are:

Entocort Uceris (similar to Entocort) Cholestyramine Pepto Bismol

I've used Entocort, Cholestyramine and Pepto and they all work for me.

Diet is most key. In order to get off of the drugs attention to diet is critical. The drugs don't heal us rather the diet does.

Mesalamine is prescribed here and there. You would need to search threads for further discussion.

I've been on it twice, specifically Lialda. After dealing with MC for 9 years, I've found that I need to follow a strict diet, get a lot of sleep (more than the average person) and lead a healthy calm lifestyle, with plenty of outdoor time, in order to achieve and stay in remission. If I stray, I pay. For me, the drugs helped calm things down, but a lifestyle overhaul keeps me in remission.
