New sensitivities?

So, I am only on day two of eliminating dairy, most grains, and eggs after many years of also being GF. Yesterday I felt great and today I have a terrible headache...

Question: in elimating some foods and relying on others, what are the chances of developing new sensitivities to the few foods I may still be able to eat? i.e. does healing the colon help prevent further sensitivities from developing?

Thanks for thoughts and any words of encouragement! My family thinks I am insane:) but I'm sick of all the pooping.

not unusual to have a headache - your body is detoxing /adjusting to chemical change of the removal of these foods
(same happens when you change some medications, give up sugar, alcohol, smoking, illicit drugs etc )

drink lots of water
if you have Epsom salts / magnesium chloride. do a foot soak


what many here find, once they give up a major trigger and start to feel good then another ingredient becomes the next main trigger.
for some it is a bit of a rollercoaster ride for a few weeks/months as they fine tune their eating plan / remove toxins from their day to day environment

and MOST DEFINATELY. avoiding high inflammation triggers, and having good healing in the gut is best foundation for long term wellness
The immune system can fight colds/viruses better (rather than reacting to sensitivities). you optimise absorption of nutrients from foods
you optimise energy and wellness for the long term.

as we age, the bodies ability to heal reduces/takes longer.

reassure the family that there is no quick fix to this. for a few months it will be a 2 steps forward, 1 step back dance.
a few thousand people that have got wellness back can't all be insane!!!

Thank you for the kind words! Good to know a headache is normal. I haven't been as tired though so that is a plus.

I guess I'm wondering if I start eating a lot more turkey or lamb for example, what will prevent me from developing a sensitivity to that as well as it becomes a larger percentage of my diet?

Not being skeptical here--knowledge just feels like more power to me!

the tricky part of life with MC
what works for one, can be chaos for another. ie there is no right way or wrong way, there is your way.

we have to find what works (and what doesnt) for each of as individuals.
based on what is available, what we can afford, and that we enjoy eating!

no point using an ingredient that is hard to procure or costs a fortune and causes financial stress

the basis of something being a sensitivity is a 'weird' area,
there were times that if I ate certain vegetables in the same meal I would react (with healing I dont)
if there has been an increase in stress whether that be financial, physical, mental, emotional I am more likely to react things

my eating plan for past 9 years has been
staples. can eat them every day
ok foods - can have 3 serves a week (can't have them every day)
treats. can have 1-2 serves once a month

if there is stress or my immune system is fighting something then I stick with staples avoid the other two categories
(does this make sense)

If it's any comfort, I've been eating pork for over 80 years now, and I haven't developed a sensitivity to it, yet. Except for a few years when I was in college, I've eaten pork virtually every day, starting with bacon for breakfast. These days, pork is the only meat I eat, because I had to start avoiding beef about 10 or 12 years ago, when I discovered that it was causing symptoms other than diarrhea (such as a headache, backache, and bloating).

Regarding the headache: Gabes is quite correct, of course — when casein is digested, one of the products of the digestive process is caseomorphins. These are a type of opioid, and they're almost as addictive as other narcotics. Our brain becomes addicted to these as we digest dairy products, so it's not surprising that we might develop a headache when we cut dairy products out of our diet. It does this to try to persuade us to continue our addiction, but if we persist, it will soon pass.

Thank you both! I'm sure I've been eating less sugar overall as well so I imagine that could also be giving me withdrawal symptoms.
