IgG4 disease

Post by sonja »

Hi all,

I have a question about a friend of mine. He was diagnosed with pancreas cancer, but after a fe weeks the doctors concluded that it is IgG4 disease, a rather rare illness. What I have heard and reed about it: there are a lot of similarities with Cc. I wonder if anybody is familiair with this disease and if there is a connection with CC.
I would appreciate it very much to get some information. Thanks.

Hello Sonja,

I have to confess that I've never heard of it before you brought it up, but maybe someone else here knows more about it. Interesting that it can affect various organs, similar to CC.

I have a good friend that was just diagnosed with that last month. He was diagnosed quickly. The doctor told him it wasn't rare but it's not common either. It's autoimmune and it attacks your organs. He got to the doctor in time and they have him on medication. That's about all I know about it. Hearing him tell about it I didn't connect it with my CC.
