I’m not the expert on Budesonide ..was on it twice without much luck. Can I ask how much cholestyramine you were taking and how long did you take it?

My 2cents worth....it made me feel bloated initially also. You didn’t mention your dosage. I’m an outlier who takes 8 packets a day! One week isn’t enough time in my opinion! If all else fails in your quest, you may want to try it again at a higher dosage and give it more of a chance time wise.

I was on Budesonide for about 1 1/2 years and had no difficulties whatsoever. During that time, however, I cut out all the foods that my Enterolab stated I had reactions to which were gluten, dairy, and soy. I had to really wean off of it slowly. 1 tablet ever couple of days for a 2-3 weeks, and then every 3-4 days for 2-3 weeks until I was down to about 1 a week and finally quit with no issues whatsoever. I did have a very clean diet however! I highly recommend it. It helped me get my life back!

Hi
I was on budesonide after I was diagnosed with LC in 2010 after months of wd. The budesonide helped me quickly. 9 mg in the beginning and later I had to taper. I felt good on using it in the beginning, had even more energy I remember and my wd disappeared. But You can't take it to long and my wd returned, each time quicker. I didn’t succeed in discontinuing the budesonide and it turned out to be bad for my health, my resistance. I had very often the flu, infections, etc., was tired. From oktober until may I was continually sick for two years. For three years I was on and off budesonide and then I decided to stop and try a gluten-free diet. This immediately helped and this was the beginning of my journey to find out what I can en cannot tolerate. At the moment I am in remission since 5 years. For me diet is the solution.
Success!
