Hello all,
Having found this room feels like home after two years lost on an iceberg! I am so grateful for everyone who has the courage to step up and share their stories. For the sake of time, mine is in a nutshell:
I was diagnosed with CC on 11.16.2020. I have been on roller coaster between awful and not-so-bad. Now on my third series of Budesonide I have changed my diet to eliminate G, S, D, Nightshades. I am already a sober person so coffee is the vice I struggle with. Morning Dandelion tea is my go-to. We changed to hemp milk long ago, also use plant-based butter. Yogurt is the one dairy I really miss and haven’t found a suitable substitute yet.
My best mornings begin with a green smoothie of all things I can have, beginning with well cooked greens, avocado, apple sauce, banana, cooked white rice and pea-based protein powder. I also add cocoa powder as I don’t know how it affects me at this time (hoping for the best).
My protein of choice is lean chicken and I still eat eggs. Spices are limited to salt and garlic powder, some simple herbs.
I have limited my daily supplements to prescriptions, calcium complex and a multi-vitamin.
I am interested to know how many of this group have benefited form the entero (sp?) testing.
Thanks again to you all for lending a shoulder to lean on.
Onward and upward!
Paula

Hi Paula,
Welcome to the group.
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

Welcome to the group.
As far as I can tell, after reading posts here for over 15 years, the correct answer would be,"Virtually every one of us who has ordered those tests".Paula wrote:I am interested to know how many of this group have benefited form the entero (sp?) testing.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I am grateful for all this information too! I do have a question regarding coffee substitute as I cannot tolerate coffee or tea due to the acid as well as citric acid in all beverages (preservative) so I drink water only but like a warm beverage and some flavor during the day. I used to drink Caffix but it contains gluten, I have found instant chicory, which I would like to start drinking but know it does have fiber, is this a safe substitute in stage 1?
Re: Grateful Newbie
Theoretically, it should be safe, if nothing is added, but I've never tried it, so I'm only guessing. In such situations some of us have used certain 100% juices, or juices diluted 50% with water. I used to drink grape use, but I hear you about the citric acid because some of us have lower tolerance thresholds than others. Apple juice is presumably free of citric acid, But I find that at certain times, such as late in the day, It sometimes sours my stomach if I drink too much of it, because apples contain malic acid. The key to tolerating citrus based juices, or what ever, is to limit the amount so as not to exceed our tolerance threshold. Some members here sip all day on water that has a little lemon juice added to give it some flavor. Some sip on bone broth.

Hi Paula and Tex
Paula welcome to our group!
Interesting Tex what you wrote about apple juice. I can handle apple and apple juice, but I drink it seldom. Recently I drank two big glasses in the late evening and the next morning I reacted to them. Nervous pain in my leg, osteoarthritis in my hand and holding fluid.
I can't tolerate coffee and I drink 'No coffee', which is based om chicory, what works well. It is absolutely not coffee, but it looks like it and I drink it black or with almond milk. It looks then like a real cappuccino.
Succes
