Help!

Post by crervin »

Hey guys,
This past week I came down with a stomach virus for 48 hours got slightly better then 24 hours later came down with the flu. Yesterday, was the first day that I have been able to sit up in awhile. My flu symptoms are much better and my fever is gone, but I have this unrelenting watery diarrhea that I can’t get under control. I have lost 5 pounds since Sunday. I have zero appetite🤦🏼‍♀️. I am trying my best to keep from getting dehydrated. The onky thing I have eaten since Sunday is apple sauce, potatoe chips, baked potato plain, and pop cycles (as I write this I am thinking I shouldn’t have eaten these due to the corn syrup🤦🏼‍♀️, but I was craving them🥲). Anyhow, does anyone have any advice on how to get this watery diarrhea stopped? My gut sounds like a firework show, and my household is falling apart with me sick.

I appreciate any advice you all have! I am trying to make white rice and a plain ground turkey burger and force myself to eat it. I literally can’t walk to my bathroom without having to rest.

Stay well friends!
Martha E.

Dear Martha,
I hope by now you have turned the corner and feel much better. I feel for you and anyone else that gets a stomach bug. Our MC just complicates any added virus or bacteria

Staying hydrated would have been the only suggestion at that time. If there was no throwing up I might have suggested pepto bismal

Take care
Erica

Hi Crevin,

I had the same. Two times in the last weeks (now I have corona). Drinking is, what Erica wrote, the most important. After the nausea is gone, you can try applesauce without sugar and af that white rice. That is what helped me.
Since december I am at the moment for the sixth time ill. It is related to my auto immuun problem I think.
Success and I hope you get well soon.

Thank you guys! I have recovered, that was rough. I was sick for about 2 weeks.

Sadly, now I am dealing with pollen allergies. It’s that time again, it always causes gut troubles for me.
