Sawdust

Post by jbrohlr »

Hello,

I've had a bad morning so far. Three times to the bathroom, twice with watery stool. I had a similar bad day last week but after a day I was back to my normal MC status. Last week's episode I blamed it on the bone broth that I made. Today though I realized that last night I was running my table saw and router and I know I breathed in some fine sawdust (blew some out of my sinuses and could feel it in my throat). I did some woodworking last week as well but not quite sure of which day.

Does it make sense that a small amount of sawdust in my intestines could trigger a reaction? Seems logical. Anyone else had experience with sawdust?

Possibly. The immune system can cross-react with certain tree pollens to trigger MC associated digestive system reactions, so it might be possible that this can be extended to the wood, itself. It's probably more likely that the sawdust simply irritated your sinuses, to trigger an immune reaction, and the resulting inflammation extended to your intestines, to cause a digestive system reaction. Obviously, this is just a guess, because these are uncharted waters.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
