Freeze-Dried food for travel?

Post by emlepage1 »

Hello everyone,

I recently did some travel and was able to pre-make the casava flour tortillas that I basically live off of however I could not precook vegetables and turkey. I wondered about getting a food freeze-dryer (I do not know anything about these) so that I could prepare the turkey and cooked vegetables ahead of time, freeze-dry them and then just add water when I arrive at my destination. Would that work?

I would love to hear from anyone who has done this.

Thank you,
Elaine

That sounds like a great idea! I used to work as a backpacking guide and eat dehydrated meals so it should work. I have not personally tried making any myself but am curious too!
Did you ever try it?
