Flax seeds
I Wondered if any of you have tried this......But along with the flax seed oil I take....I add flax seeds to my casseroles and soups etc......have noticed a little less pain than before in the joints. I take A combination of glucosamine and Flax seed oil like Tex does and then use the Flax seed in foods, salads too. Has a nutty taste. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance

Hi Oma,
Yes, I have tried using flax seed and/or flax seed oil. I don't anymore but it's mainly because I have become more lazy with my food.
I used to buy ground flax seed at the HF store and add it to my fruit smoothies - it was good. Flax seed oil spoils very easily when exposed to heat - I think you have to keep it refrigerated in order to make sure it doesn't spoil. Flax seeds have a hard shell that our digestive system is not able to break down so they have to be baked or cooked or ground in order for us to utilize the nutrion they provide.
I think Dr. Mercola has some good information on Flax Seed and Flax Seed Oil on his site - have you ever read any of his nutritional info? He often refers to other people's research. It is colorful and interesting reading. Try googling Dr. Mercola and then search on flax seed.
Love,
Karen
