ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS???? CONFUSED???
yes. in reference to Kait---
The neuro here told Lynn that the OPIATES Kait has been on,for such a long time, COULD be PART of her INCREASED PAIN????
He is suggesting that Kait should be DETOXED???? And then see what happens?????
I Know she is on about 6 diifferent meds. but I didnt know that----Opiates could INCREASE pain---
I know the so called SEIZURES were due to over-dosing but also causing her increased PAIN???
Tell U, this info has me more confused
Thanks for any input on this???

Hi Barbara,
Long-term use of opiates or opiate-based meds can make the body much more sensitive to pain. The body builds up a resistance to the opiates and the pain thus comes back. My sister experienced this in her last year of life and she just finally took herself off the opiates until the pain got too severe in the last 3 months and then they went to morphine.
After going off the opiates about 2 months later her pain became somewhat less severe.
Kait is going through hell on earth and definitely does not deserve a day of it. If only we could just meet Dr. H in a dark alley.
Love, Maggie
