Saccharomyces Boulardii

Post by LauraGld »

Hello to all,

Thought this may be useful to share. I have been very good about my diet and have not had any bad flares since my last episode a few weeks ago when I had my embarrassing dash into the woods followed by a horrible mess. I got back on track with my diet and had one to two movements a day...not D but soft and thin in shape. Seven days ago I started a new probiotic and in 24 hours my perfect poops have returned..one each day. Everything else in my routine has remained the same. I can hardly believe it but I thought it was worth sharing with the group. When I searched for Saccharomyces Boulardii in our group I found several posts from other members. I know we are all different and this may not work for everyone but I thought the the information might be helpful to some :)

I'm taking Saccharomyces Boulardii twice a day....made by Klaire Labs on Amazon. It contains no Gluten, egg, peanuts, milk/Casein. wheat, tree nuts, shellfish, soy, fish and corn. This brand was recommended by a GI doctor for his patients with GI disease and extensive D.

Hope this may help some of the group trying so hard to heal...

All the best, Laura

Hi Laura,

Apparently, it helps some MC patients, especially after they've been in remission for a while. It seems to be helpful for stabilizing their gut biome. Of course, it doesn't help everyone, but if a probiotic is helpful for an individual, Saccharomyces Boulardii seems to be one of the better choices.

Hello,

This is from an older thread on your site about Saccharomyces Boulardii:
"Apparently, it helps some MC patients, especially after they've been in remission for a while. It seems to be helpful for stabilizing their gut biome. Of course, it doesn't help everyone, but if a probiotic is helpful for an individual, Saccharomyces Boulardii seems to be one of the better choices.
"

My health food store talked about this today and said I'd look into it. I am not in remission yet. Still have 2-4 stools a day (mostly soft).

Would it be a bad idea to try this? I don't want to go further backwards.

Thank you!

It might be worth a try, if you're not making any progress. If you're making progress, why rock the boat?

I used it and found it good

it tends to be more stable compared to other enzymes that require constant refrigeration
