Bpc-157 peptide

Post by LauraGld »

Has anyone tried this peptide for gut healing and if so what was your experience, good, bad or indifferent? Thanks in advance for any feedback :) Tex do you have any experience with this or thoughts on it?

I know nothing about it, because I've never heard of it before, so I Googled it. Here's what the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency says about it:

I believe I'd be a little careful about taking it, if there are no credible published studies about it.

Morning Tex,
I went onto Pubmed and found many published studies BPC-157....there are results published results for a phase 2 study on colitis. Hopefully phase 3 will come soon.

There are many other studies if you feel like going down the habit hole :)

I looked at the reference you cited. Although the article makes impressive claims, the studies appear to have been done on animals. And all those other articles that are cited by the first one, appear to have been done by a shuffled assortment of basically the same group of researchers. Or am I wrong?

Morning Tex,

You're not wrong about the animal studies....hopefully there will be human studies in the future but since this is a peptide it is of little interest the pharmaceutical companies because they can't patent it...so studies may be few and far between.

There are some Functional Medicine doctors that have been offering this to patients especially with gut issues......so I have become curious.

Thanks for taking a look,

Laura
my observation over my time here in this group (13 years)

just like that medications that can help other IBD's do not work so well for MC,
a lot of functional products are aimed at 'gut health' 'healing gut', albeit they dont resolve root cause of MC type reactions.

Morning Tex,
I has to stop BPC-157. An hour or so after the first dose I felt prickles on my skin....I tried to ignore it and took the second dose later in the day. The prickly feeling was clear. I stopped the supplement and the prickles went away. I am highly sensitive to many things so this may be fine for others but not for me.

I also get this sensation when I try anything in peptide form or even too much bone broth....maybe a histamine reaction?

So that's my review for what it's worth.

Take care, Laura

I started using BPC-157 in 2021 for pain relief before my hip surgery.
I found that this really helped my gut. While I was in remission from MC I was not back to normal. The BPC-157 made me feel normal. I had to quit taking it in March of this year because I could no longer buy it. It was taken off the market. After I stopped taking it, I had gut problems here and there for a couple of months and then full blown MC came back. I don’t no if my MC came back because I stopped taking it or if it prevented my MC flare ups. Did anyone else have this experience?
