Re: More research finding covid in the gut.
Hi. Long time reader, first time poster. I was diagnosed via colonoscopy in August 2021. I found this website shortly thereafter as there didn’t seem to be a quick response from my gastroenterologist as to what to do. I did the enterolab testing in October and my numbers were in the hundreds as I was reactive to all the major culprits. This left me with: what can I eat!.? To cut to the chase, after eliminating slowly all the problematic foods, by April or May of 2022 I really felt encouraged with my progress and felt like I was on the road to recovery. Symptoms were much reduced and brain fog diminishing.
Then, in mid-May, I got Covid. Not a bad case really. Just 4 days of feeling like I had a bad cold, except for on day 4, I had a case of diarrhea which I hadn’t had in months. I didn’t think too much of it because my husband (from whom I got the covid) did also which cleared up quickly. Mine however, did not and it has been a long battle since then. I have been on budesonide for the last six weeks and it really hasn’t helped much. My gastroenterologist told me I might just have to wait out the “long covid” so the above referenced article was particularly interesting to me. Anyone else out there in MC World have the same experience?
