Well it happened this morning on an early walk with my dogs the sensation of impending doom began. I was on a favorite walk in a county park. There were port-a-potties where my car was parked but that was far far away!!!! Panic began to set in...and I tried to think calm thoughts...please please please not now. I finally gave in and jumped into the woods with my dogs but didn't make in on time...a big mess I did my best to clean up...but it was still everywhere! I happily didn't run into anyone on the road back to my car and got myself home...straight to the shower...and clothes into the washing machine.
It was on June 11th when I wrote in the group so happy with three days of perfect poops...so so happy. The last several days poops were become looser but still once a day...this morning I had tried a new smoothy....my usual "So Delicious Unsweeted" coconut milk, sunflower butter and banana....but added in a quarter of avocado and a small amount of blueberries....I think the fat content was too much . Better return quickly to my simple diet immediately.
The lesson here is NEVER try a new breakfast smoothy or any new food before you go out for a long walk!!! Always try a new recipe when you are going to be home for several hours or at least in a place with a bathroom near by.
I even had backup panties and wipes in my purse by my purse and was also far away....and the damage was too extensive by the time got back to it

Re: Well it happened :(
Most unfortunate, to say the least, but that was a rather severe reaction, to have been caused by a quarter of an avocado. Declining stool integrity is a tipoff that something may be amiss — it's an indication of a fragile state of remission. I'm wondering if something else might be going on. If things aren't back to normal tomorrow, you might need to try to locate a source of cross-contamination in your diet. I get the impression that something you're eating every day may be causing the problem.
I can't remember the details of everyone's situation. Did you use budesonide to reach remission initially, or did you do it strictly by making diet changes. I seem to recall that you only used diet changes. Am I wrong?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Actually, I had the same reaction to a small amount of avocado. I did not have D till the next day though.
I have read that avocado is high in histamines. Perhaps that could explain the faster than usual reaction?

Re: Well it happened :(
Morning Tex,
So sorry to have missed your question in the quoted text below. I have never taken Budesonide and have only been using diet to heal. I am finally doing really well through diet :) After this event I removed avocado from my diet and have only reintroduced it recently is small amounts without a problem.
Will send an update soon on well being :)
All the best,
Laura
