Volunteering for a good cause...

Post by Peggy »

:bike:

I'm volunteering at a large bike race out in the country tomorrow with proceeds going the the Canadian Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada. Looks like I'll be standing in the :umbrella: cheering the riders on...good thing I have rain gear

That is so nice of you. Take that rain gear in case you need it. And for such a worthy cause too. Have fun :pigtail: Love Oma

Excellent! I hope the weather forcast is wrong, and it doesn't rain after all.

You do a lot of volunteer work for that organization, and I'm sure they appreciate it.

Peg,

You are a very giving person and I am sure they are thankful for all that you do. Hope the weather forecaster is way off base with the rain.

Love, Maggie

I volunteered at our Morning Glory Ride (bike ride benefitting the Sierra Club) one year. Stood on a street corner at 4:00 a.m. and pointed people the direction they were to go. It was early in my MC career and, oh my gosh, was I glad when I was able to leave my post and find the WC! :toilet:

Anyway, have fun!

Good for you Peg! Nothing beats that "feel good feeling" when volunteering for a worthwhile cause!

Hope the weather stays dry for you - can't have you melting!

Love,
Mars

Peg,

Let us know how it went. Did you end up drenched? Very nice of you to help out.

Well, the weather didn't co-operate on Saturday and it was a very c-c-c-cold wet day. But you're right Mars, nothing beats that warm feeling of volunteering for a good cause.

I actually had complete strangers living in the area bring me hot coffee, home-made cookies, and offers to use their washrooms. I met lots of really nice dogs that people were walking, too. It's a very spread-out farm community, the scenery was great - what you could see through the clouds

I stopped in at Mom's on the way home and she made me coffee and her hubby made me soup to help me thaw out. Five hours in the elements more than required hot liquids!

Murphy's Law - the weather was gorgeous yesterday LOL.

I had to rest alot yesterday because being tense in the cold was really hard on my healing neck, but that's what Sundays are for anyway...right?

Love to all
Peg
