Hi all,
I have received continuous blood tests indicating low neutrophils (Neutropenia). I am wondering if this is commonly associated with LC and if so, any suggestions for supplements to improve the numbers?
Thanks for help, Leigh

Re: Low neutrophils
Hello Leigh,
Neutropenia Is usually caused by disorders such as infections, chemotherapy, vitamin B-12, folate, or copper deficiency, autoimmune diseases, and leukemia. So yes, it's sometimes associated with MC. Presumably, good control of MC should resolve neutropenia, but I'm just assuming that, because as far as I'm aware, there's no medical research to verify that an autoimmune disease in remission can't cause neutropenia.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Re: Low neutrophils
Thanks Tex for the information. I am generally in good health with very few infections. Had my B12 and folate tested, which are normal but will have a look at my copper levels and see if I can establish the reason for low neutrophils. thanks again, Leigh
