Hello,
I have a question that I'm trying to figure out. My Enterolab test shows foods that I react to are extensive. But, I have a question about 2 specific foods. Eggs and Dairy. When it says I react to eggs, I assume those are chicken eggs as I also react strongly to chicken as well. And dairy it shows in parenthesis (cow) on the test results.
So, my questions are: can I eat dairy that comes from goats or sheep? Also, can I eat eggs that come from a duck? Would these be okay to eat?
I'm just trying to figure things out. I feel like I can't eat anything. Thank you for any input you may have.

The EnteroLab tests check for reactions against the primary protein in chicken egg albumin (egg white). A few of us seem to be able to tolerate duck eggs, but probably the majority of us who react to eggs, cannot, except in baked goods. For most of us, duck eggs won't work, otherwise.
The casein test for dairy is done on cow's milk, based on antibodies produced due to a reaction against the alpha S1-casein protein. Some cows have more of this than others, but that doesn't matter because only a tiny amount is required to cause a reaction. Unfortunately, the milk of goats, sheep, and most other common animals also contain enough of this protein to cause us to react if we're sensitive to casein. The only milk that would be safe, is the milk from camelids, including camels, llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos. If we want a milk substitute, most of us choose almond milk, cashew milk, coconut milk, or hemp milk. There are probably also a few other alternatives out there, these days.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply Tex. I'm wanting eggs so bad. Not only do I have to eat for MC, but also for Reflux related to a hiatal hernia. This really slims the food field down pretty narrow.
