Fatigue

Post by Cesca »

Hello again,

I am a little over two weeks into the elimination diet and today I feel totally exhausted. I feel lightheaded, and a little anxious. I’ve tended to have headaches over the past few years and these past few days I can’t do without taking paracetamol. Is fatigue a symptom of detox? I’ve been eating pretty well I think, with plenty of good meat, a lot of potatoes, some zucchini. I also have made a lot of stewed apples and pears since I’ve been C ever since I started the diet but it does not seem to help much apart from give me gas! I’ve lost quite a bit of weight, too. I hope I stabilize soon or my family will start freaking out when they see me (I’m in Spain, alone, at the moment, my husband arrives Thursday). I’ve been feeling well until today…. Maybe it’s the weather, or the planets, or the detox! I tend to have low blood pressure, maybe it’s lower than usual?

I’m making roasted sweet potatoes and chicken for dinner, all organic.

I’ve upped my magnesium intake to 400 in the past few days, I will drop it to 300 today. I’m taking vitamin d, and glucosamine. I’ve had plenty of sunshine so my vitamin d levels can’t be too crappy.

Any advice?

Thanks you,

Xx Cesca

although you may be getting good time in the outdoors and sunshine, that does not automatically mean your body is converting that exposure to 'usable Vit D3 in the body'

the other key aspect is that the body needs good levels of magnesium to utilise Vit D3 at inflammation sites in the body
why are you reducing the magnesium if you still have mild constipation symptoms

headaches and fatigue can be caused by multiple sources.
external triggers like humidity, mold, chemicals, pollen etc

are you having good sleep each night?
have you had your blood pressure checked?

be patient - healing takes months not weeks

Thank you for answering. You’re right, healing this is going to take ages. I just got a bit worried, a little overwhelmed. I feel better now. I’ll try to get a good night’s sleep.

out of interest - what age are you

I was looking at articles about histamine for another discussion on this board and saw this article and wondered if it might apply to you
Many here have histamine / mast cell issues
and many here started to have MC issues when there was changes in hormonal

https://www.larabriden.com/the-curious- ... tolerance/
Headaches. Anxiety. Insomnia. Brain fog. Hives. Nasal congestion. These are just a few of the symptoms of mast cell activation or high histamine.

Histamine symptoms are more common in women and often track with the menstrual cycle, occurring when estrogen is high at ovulation and then again just before the period.

The connection between mast cells, histamine, and hormones is that:

Estrogen stimulates mast cells to release histamine and down-regulates the DAO enzyme that clears histamine. At the same time, histamine stimulates the ovaries to make more estrogen. The net result can be a vicious cycle of estrogen → histamine → estrogen → histamine.
Progesterone stabilises mast cells, up-regulates DAO, and can therefore reduce histamine.
Many of the symptoms attributed to so-called “estrogen dominance” (a term I do not use) are actually symptoms of histamine or mast cell activation. For example, mast cells and histamine play a role in both endometriosis and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Hi Gabe,

Sorry, I only just saw this. I had not
yet found the notifications button at the top of the front page. Thank you for thinking of me! I’m 61. I’m on hormone replacement and have been for years. I will have a proper read through what you sent me, but I don’t know if, as I am on hormone replacement, it will apply to me. At the moment I’m still C… I have been using mini enemas to help me as otherwise I feel very uncomfortable. I don’t know whether this method is better than taking oral stool softeners? It works pretty well. Prunes and stewed fruit are delicious but don’t seem to help…I just get a sore tummy full of air. just wish I could just go, you know?! I am still taking 400 mg of magnesium, D3, and glucosamine, and I have magnesium flakes for my bath and also magnesium oil spray for my body.

I’ve ordered the enterocort lab (sp?) tests today, I should have them soon and I’m intrigued to what the results will be. I’ve stuck to eating potatoes and meat (lamb or turkey for the most part). Last night I had lamb with zucchini and after dinner I was craving something sweet so I had stewed apples…but I had way tooo much and I was so bloated and uncomfortable for hours afterwards. Today I had avocado for breakfast, I can’t yet face meat from breakfast but it might be coming! I’m going back to Switzerland tomorrow afternoon and am not looking forward to the grocery bills as meat costs a fortune there! Oh well! It is what it is.

Thanks again for thinking of me.

Best wishes,

Francesca
