I agree with the "busy, hectic world" part but mine seems to be the lack of motivation and energy after fighting with "2 year old" contractrors! Seriously, I don't seem to have the motivation or energy after working all day?

Hi Guys!
Mars, I think a good exercise for the spare tire involves twisting. Like doing sit ups but touching your right elbow to the outside of your left knee each time you rise. Or if doing toe-touches from a standing position, touch the outside of your left foot with your right fingers each time you go down.
But I am certainly not an expert. Hopefully Karen will come along and let us know. Hope you have a relaxing weekend!
Love,
Polly
P.S. Katy, I find that the best way to find time is to build it in each day, or every other day. Think of it as a gift to yourself that you are not going to let other people/responsibilities take away from you. Be selfish and put yourself first! Find something that is enjoyable for you - like a walk with your IPOD. And JUST DO IT as the Nike folks say. LOL!

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Mars,
When I was on the Zone diet, that spare tire just melted away month by month. But it took time. The bulge is the last to go. I didn't exercise at that point, aside from walking occassionally. At the same time, the spare tire can be an indication of low adrenal functioning (which can come about through food allergies/intolerance along with stress, etc.) or syndrome x issues. In that case, its helpful to address the underlying issues.
Crunches or any abdominal exercise should help. But I confess, I have a hard time doing them myself.
Good luck with this. Celia
