Report on Dr. Fine's Conferance in Dallas on March 3-5, 2006

Post by tex »

Hi All,

Another link that Luce sent me last night. She's certainly staying on top of News concerning that conference.

Note the details on how to order a DVD of the proceedings, in the next to last paragraph of the article.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Good synopsis. Thanks, Luce and tex. Can we also put this in the Research forum, tex, so we don't lose it in the bowels (no pun intended) of the website?

Love,

Polly

Polly,

Done. Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, my choice of words in the topic line that I used, is probably a little misleading. The report on Clan Thompson's site only covers Dr. Fine's principal lecture, concerning his 8-year research report, not the entire conference, obviously.

Love,
Wayne

Hi there,

Be sure to check out the slides from the conference, even though some of them might be printed over. Let me know if that's the case when you look at them. There's a place to click on at the bottom of this Clan Thompson article, but it's a little tricky finding the slides once you do. Keep looking, and you'll get it though.

Someone over at Braintalk took some fair notes for one of the attendees from that site, but I've not had the time to dovetail those notes with my own. I have a feeling that I can really fill in the gaps when I do get a chance to do that. Lots going on over here!

It would be interesting to see how many of those who didn't stool test positive though had the pathology, apparently, for M.C., would improve in their symptoms on a gf diet? I wonder if the rest, or at least most of the rest, couldn't be considered "false negatives?' Hmm, another good question for Dr. Fine!

There was alot more information in the lecture, much of which you can find on Dr. Fine's slides on that link above. Also, I think he's got quite a bit of the text on his site, if I'm not remember that wrong.

Dr. Fine has really expanded the amount of information on his site, which makes a really good defense for his methodology. It shows the historical precedence and rationale of how he came upon his ideas as merely hinted at in the well done artcle on the Clan Thompson site posted here.

Thanks, Wayne!
Yours, Luce
