Hi Tex

I do get back pain on the left but I have had that for many years due to a L 4/5 back surgery. It does seem more persistant these days. I have not eaten beef for a while. When I do my tummy seems go go very quiet and the litte "critters" as I call them in my colon seem to be happy. I need to buy some nice steak and have a small piece. Turkey, Salmon and Chicken are my main staples.

I'm curious about the Vitamins .. it seems anything I use goes into over sensitivity drive. Just the new way of life :)

I ordered the magesium lotion. How many pumps do you use and do you spread it all over the body?

Hi All

I finally got to order my EnteroLabs tests... yeah :bashful: . As said in my intro I would have ordered this before had I not just spent my Cash on the Genova tests. They finally came back last week and confirmed I have inflammation and she sugessted an elimination diet. Basically all my good bacteria has been destroyed by the anti-biotics and the good ones does no appear to want to to come back.

She sent me a prescription for the following and I'm hesitant to take any besides perhaps try some Probiotics again since I suffer eating vegetables. Try to introduce small amounts MC approved back onto the list very slowly.

Digestive Enzymes ( See from some board chat probably not really helpful)
GI Revive - supposed to help with gut lining healing (some weird ingredients like slippery eel) .. very hesitant to take that , has anyone here used it as was it helpful?
Corebiotic Probiotic.

I've been GF for a month .. and it has helped with D, still eating eggs and 90% Dairy Free but still have a piece of cheese on a week. I just baked my own GF bread and made those Paleo Muffins that was posted here.

Thanks all for the wonderful support. Would love to hear your feedback.

You appear to be on the right track. The EnteroLab test results will answer a lot of questions.

It's possible that digestive enzymes might help, but it's also possible that they might cause you to react, as happened in my case.

Gut healing supplements rarely provide any benefits. That ingredient you mentioned is probably slippery Elm, but got healing supplements remind me of trying to spit in the ocean in order to raise the sea level.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

re the magnesium lotion - go for 3.
(the label should say how many pumps per application and the dosage that the product provides)

in early days of resolving magnesium deficiency I applied it to the tops of my legs and stomach every time I went to the bathroom!

Digestive Enzymes ( See from some board chat probably not really helpful)
GI Revive - supposed to help with gut lining healing (some weird ingredients like slippery eel) .. very hesitant to take that , has anyone here used it as was it helpful?
Corebiotic Probiotic.

these products are very commonly suggested by practitioners for IBD's. my thoughts/observations
1. MC Is not like other IBD's
2. Healing the lining of the gut will only happen if inflammation is reduced and you have the right nutrients for healing.
the right eating plan, lifestyle choices and Vit D3 and magnesium can achieve the same thing
3. a balanced gut will come with time - you can not fast track healing and balance

I've been GF for a month .. and it has helped with D, still eating eggs and 90% Dairy Free but still have a piece of cheese on a week. I just baked my own GF bread and made those Paleo Muffins that was posted here.

Glad things have improved

Thanks Gabes and Tex, healing takes time and the weird added medicines will not help. What food specific one like a "kimchi" or any fermented foods will be safe for out to promote the good bacteria? Thanks for the advice on the magnsium lotion

Some people did well on fermented items - others did not

that is the tricky part of 'MC world' there is no set eating plan / list of ingredients that works for everyone.

If you use the search function you can read previous posts and discussions on fermenting
(what we find is that once people get to a good stage of remission they dont visit the site as often / contribute as often)

healing the gut is like a major house rebuild. you have to do there right steps at the right stage and each stage has its process and timing if you rush a step then there can be issues.
for now dont try to rush, overthink, do too much. Bland eating plan, Vit D3 and magnesium and be ok with that.
it can take weeks/months to resolve key deficiencies

Everyone is different! But thru much trial and error over many years, I’ve decided digestive enzymes are really needed in my case. Things start to slowly go the wrong direction when I quit taking them with meals.

I also did many and different probiotics over the years which didn’t seem to help.

Hello,

I've taken the estradiol for about 6 months when I first got MC. I had to get off of it as it gave me headaches.

Since then I've taken bioidentical hormones in creme form for a number of years with no ill effect to my MC.

Magnesium foam and gel--I've bought these at Walmart. I think they are around the epsom salt area. You have to look around.

GIrevive--If this comes in a tub and has like 50 ingredients I reacted badly to it. It worked like a laxative. I think there simply was way too many ingredients for us.

Thanks everyone for the advice. A small update from my side. I was doing extremely well on my GF diet. Waiting to get my test results back from Entero. The pain at night is very severe and my GI prescribed Bentyl. I only took 1 10 mg tablet Saturday and suddenly I have WD today . Just from one pill. And the GI cannot understand where the pain is coming from. I get it specifically at night around 8:30 pm. I cannot figure this out and he said "I should not be in any pain" .. what a sad situation with these doctors. I ordered the Methyl Guard (not the plus) and also the Digestive enzymes but I think it is best to wait and let my body and diet work it out like Gabes said.. patience and time. I'm bloated during the day now and have this "small burning pain in the middle of my tummy '' but oh boy at night it goes in overdrive. Is the severe peristalses pain normal for MB patients still trying to recover? The fatigue is constant but I will persevere, without this board I would be totally lost.

are you eating the evening meal at least 2-3 hours before bedtime?

For me, I have main meal type thing in the middle of the day and a very small snack as evening meal.

Hi Gabes yes I usually eat around 6-6:30 pm and then the pain like clockwork starts at 8:30. And it is different food, either chicken, turkey or fish with my own crockpot veggies. I usually got to bed around 10-10:30 at night.

No, but I do take my Magesium and Ambien at 10:30 at night. No medications with dinner.
