Hi,
I’ve been meaning to ask this question for a while, should we be worried about sharing a microwave with allergens?
My husband will heat a pizza up, a steak sauce containing lots of dairy or I have heated wheat bags. I will later reheat a cup of tea etc. Hope I don’t sound crazy but I blow out previous air from the microwave. Should perhaps wipe out between uses?
Kind Regards,
Amy

Re: Shared Cooking Facilities
I doubt that the risk is huge, but It might be a good idea to cover your food with a paper towel, or napkin, in the microwave. I notice that when heating various things, sometimes air pockets explode, and cause particles to stick to the top, or the walls, and they could certainly fall into your food during a heating cycle.
And blowing out the air is probably a good idea, because tiny particles can remain suspended in the air for a surprisingly long time, sometimes. I believe if I were in that situation, I would use a dedicated microwave, if possible.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Re: Shared Cooking Facilities
the warm air from the heated wheat bags may have minute particles of gluten in them
as you take it out of the microwave when it is hot you could be breathing that in
In my early stages of healing (when body was super inflammed) I could not handle that level of contamination
