Hi Everyone and Tex
Newbie here...
I started Thorne Methyl-Guard Plus yesteray, having a hard time finding foods, but GF, Dairy Free,no red meats, no soy, only about 11 foods, even tried Lamb earlier this week and it went great, and then I took Thorne Methyl-plus yesterday an had a rough day. Its very hard going backward. Maybe I need the non plus version? Not sure what happened. Any thoughts?

Re: Methyl-Guard Reactions
I found that MethylGuard Plus was very rough on my stomach and gut, and I have had good control of my MC for many years. I don't do well with medication in capsules, as it seems to dump the medicine all at once and my gut isn't happy. I switched to Doctor's Best Fully Active B Complex, and that was better. But I still was having some problems. You might want to consider doing what I do, and that's open up the capsule and dump out much of the contents. Start low, and if see how it goes. then you can slowly ramp up and how well you tolerate it.

Re: Methyl-Guard Reactions
You didn't mention your symptoms, but over-methylation can cause symptoms such as anxiety, nausea, insomnia, migraines, irritability, joint and muscle aches, fatigue, headaches, etc. Do these match most of your symptoms?

Re: Methyl-Guard Reactions
Later in the day after taking myfirst Methyl-Guard on Monday I felt better than I had in a long time. I did not have achy joints or any of the other symptom you mentions Tex. Heart palpitations and anxiety attacks were even better. (Anxiety attacks are new to me, just the past few months while my weight loss has been a issue) The next day when I woke, Tuesday was the rough day. I could have also been reacting to Boardshead turkey and GF bread sandwhich. (Straving and it sounded like a safe food) But just the BM's. My heart palps seemed fbetter that day after taking the Methyl guard. I will try the other suggestion and lower my dosage in a few days.
Re: Methyl-Guard Reactions
Boar's Head turkey should be safe, but many of us react to commercial GF bread, because it contains too many ingredients, and the combination can cause many of us to react, especially while we're still recovering. Did you use mayonnaise, or some other condiment? Most of those contain ingredients that cause many of us to react.
