Psyllium debate

Post by ldubois7 »

Hi!

I’ve been using psyllium twice a day for a while now.
I was taking 1/2 tablespoon twice a day, now 1 teaspoon twice a day.

I really can’t tell if it’s helping. I “go” 3-4 times in the morning usually, but now I go in the afternoon, too.

Would you reduce or increase the psyllium? I’m trying to get to 1-2 larger movements a day.

I read all the posts regarding psyllium use, but am still a little confused.

Hi Linda,

I think all of our bodies are a little different, but I use psyllium daily in capsule form. I also bake with it as my primary binder; so I eat it as well. I notice it helps firm up my stool if my gut is calm, but if I have a reaction to food I’m eating (or a flare up), it doesn’t hold up well until I'm calm again. Hope this helps. :)
