Hi all,
After my abscess drainage last year, I recently noticed a lot of discomfort in my rear once again. My GI labeled it as Proctitis initially, but an MRI reveals a 2.5 cm intersphincteric perianal fistula. I’ve got an appointment on Friday with one surgeon, and I’m making an appointment with the surgeon who did my first surgery last year.
I’m staying positive because I’m not in a lot of pain. If I do get pain, it comes and goes. The only issue is having to shower after each bowel movement, because as we know with CC, constant bowel movements are the norm.
Has anyone else ever dealt with this? I’d love to know your input or tips on recovery. I’m still unsure as to where or how I got this abscess in the first place. I don’t have Crohn’s. They even tested me again. I just have MC/CC.
Cheers!

Re: Dealing with Perianal Fistula
I don't know anything about a perianal fistula, but noticed your comment about having to shower after each bowel mevement. Have you considered a bidet attachement? It can be installed on a regular toilet, and would make it much more convenint to keep clean than constant showering. They aren't that expensive, many are under $100, Of course, you can get all sorts of quality,
I hope you get relief soon!

Hi both,
My husband got a Japanese toilet for me so that I can wash my bum after a bm, it’s amazing!
