Pelvic Pain

Post by Renoraines »

Hello everyone, I’m a 43 year old male and relatively new to MC. I was diagnosed with LC about 4 years ago. I’ve had two colonoscopies to confirm it. In addition to gastro issues, I’ve found myself challenged by extra-intestinal issues. Some of these may be the result of my Hashi’s. However, one particular symptom seems related to bowel movements, and that’s testicular and groin pain. My doc would say it’s not related, but before I get too worried about other causes, has anyone had referred pain in their groin areas? It seems to happen to me when I’m cycling more toward constipated than “fast and furious.”

Thanks for your time!

Back 20 years ago I ended up at a urologist for testicular and groin pain. The urologist examined me and then interrogated me about what I was doing right before the pain started. I told him about the heavy squat exercises I was doing at the time. He told me that was the likely cause - that I may have squatted (strained) with a full bladder and that will inflame the tubing from the testicles to the prostrate.

Food for thought.

Hmmm, that’s interesting, but I have not been doing anything strenuous. Thank you for your time!

Hi,

Welcome aboard. I have no idea what causes it, but I occasionally have the pain you seem to be describing. I first noticed it about the time my MC symptoms started about 25 years ago. In my case, the pain usually only lasts for about half an hour, or maybe an hour or so, but it was much worse, and more persistent back when I was still reacting. I've been in remission for almost 20 years, now, and although as best I can recall it occurred rather frequently when I was still reacting from MC, but now it happens rather infrequently — maybe once every two or three weeks or so. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Sorry, I admit I was vague on my point (or just did not finish it).
I was suggesting that if you strain on the stool when you are constipated that might lead to testicular tubing damage. I'm not a urologist though - just been my experience.
