Nightime Incontinence

Post by collagenous »

Hi, every time I think things are going to get better, I have an episode of nocturnal incontinence. I made an appt. and plan to ask for yet another round of Budesonide. I am so depressed I cannot stand it.

Hi,

Welcome to the group. Published research shows that over 80% of MC patients who respond to budesonide relapse after the treatment is ended. We minimize that risk by tapering the budesonide treatment for at least several weeks after the prescribed treatment ends, by taking one capsule of budesonide every other day for a week or 2, and then taking one capsule every 3rd day, for a week or 2, etc., in order to prevent a mast cell rebound; and by cutting every trace of gluten out of our diet when we begin the budesonide treatment. Please note that stress amplifies the problem, and makes achieving remission much more difficult.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
