Meat marinade

I have been doing pretty well with just one Imodium at bedtime. Now things are off the rails again. The only possible gluten I may have gotten was from tacos at a restaurant. They assured me the corn tortillas were gluten free. I ordered them with carne asada which I thought was just pulled pork. I looked up some carne asada recipes, and it turns out most are made with marinating in soy sauce. Is it possible that a soy sauce marinade on a few tacos could have this affect?

There are multiple things that could cause an issue at a restaurant

1. the tortilla's maybe gluten free, but was your meal prepared in different area to where gluten containing products are prepared (cross contamination)

2. what else was on the taco? cheese? salad? many here react to dairy and salad

3. the soy marinade may also be a trigger - soy is a big trigger for MC'er (for me personally I react worse to soy than gluten)

and the combo of all these factors, it may not have been one aspect but all these issues together that caused the inflammation reaction

Thank you. My understanding is that soy sauce is made with wheat as the first ingredient. That’s why I order tamari sauce (made with soybeans) when I get sushi. So I am pretty sure the carne asada was made with soy sauce. I guess my question is…can such a small amount of wheat actually kick off such a reaction? And….having looked at other posts it seems it could.

Difficult to say

the marinade alone may cause some to react
albeit eating out with risk of cross contamination and other inflammatory ingredients (dairy and salad) coupled with the marinade may have caused the reaction

And many of us react to very tiny amounts of those antigens, as little as a few molecules.
