I’m an oldbie looking for advice…

Post by ldubois7 »

Hi all!

I’ve had LC for 12 years and still struggle.

Recently been using the toilet 4 times a day.
I do not eat out.
My kitchen is gluten free.

Here’s what I eat daily….

Cassava, almond, coconut, tiger nut flour tortillas & bread that are homemade. I’m grain free.
Small amount of fruit
Cooked veggies
Lamb, venison, turkey, white fish (small amounts)
Allergen free choc/dates for treatS

That’s it. It’s very limiting and if I wasn’t going to the bathroom so much, I could survive on this very limited diet.

I have an appointment with my GI this week, but he basically just wants to do a colonoscopy, and that’s it when I see him.

I’ve thought of trying LDN, but hate drugs because that’s how I got here in the first place.

I’m spending too much time trying to control LC, and it impedes on living, as you well know!

Any words of wisdom out there?

Thank you,
Linda :)

Hello Linda,

You've lived with this disease long enough that you probably already know most of the tricks of the trade. But have you reviewed the January 2024 newsletter? If nothing else in there rings a bell, note the section about BAM. We've found that most of us who have been controlling this disease by diet for a long time, and then began to lose control, may have developed a BAM issue. At least, this happens often enough that it's certainly worth a try, in order to regain control. For your convenience, here's a direct link where you can either read or download a copy of the newsletter

https://www.microscopiccolitisfoundatio ... mplate.pdf

I hope this helps.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
