10 year anniversary

Post by Marcia K »

Hello, friends! I haven't checked in for a while. Retirement life is busy! I recently had my 10 year LC anniversary. While it's not an anniversary that I really want to celebrate, I am doing incredibly well. I attribute my success to this group! I recently had annual bloodwork and other than my cholesterol being a bit high, my Dr. said that I am doing great. I haven't had to take any medication other than the Pepto protocol when I was first diagnosed. Following a gluten, dairy and soy free diet has been the key, along with no raw vegetables. I have never cheated and while I am becoming more brave with trying new things, I still am very careful with everything that I eat. I wanted to update to give anyone new hope that they will indeed one day live a normal life again. When I found this group and was told that it was very difficult to believe. I walk every day, we go kayaking and while I don't always sleep well, I feel well. I just turned 64 and I'm thankful for the energy that I have. Take care and I hope you all have a wonderful summer - my favorite season!

Marcia,
CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so happy for you!
You have been such a great role model for me, personally.
You were the first person to reach out to me, when i first joined this board, defeated in Sept 2020, and you continue to be supportive to this day.
I wish you continued well-being and health.
We are all in good hands, thanks to you, Tex and Gabes!

Hi Marcia,

This is indeed good news and inspiring!
I just posted about my strong bones, but I also had last week my yearly blood check and everything was perfect.
Just like you my cholesterol was a little bit too high, like always, but only the HDL, the good form!
I also keep to my strict diet and be happy with that. Also thanks to this forum!!!!
And it is always encouraging to read about my internet family, especially so nice to read that you are doing well.
And yes.....if I am doing well, I am not often at the forum.

Love
Sonja
