had covid for first time

Post by Grahm »

My husband and I've had covid for the first time. Everyone here seems to have it. I took paxlovid, he did not. It did a number on me, never again. I think it was worse than the covid. Now I'm just really weak...... Have others had it?

Hi Connie,

I got infected with Covid at the end of June. It was the second time.

Since I was in the elimination phase, I only took paracetamol to reduce the fever when it was very high, a natural oregano antibiotic, Quinton sea water, and serum. I stayed very hydrated!

It was worse than the first time, and afterward, it left me very weak with a worsening of my Colitis. As a side effect, it left me with mucus in my throat, which I cough up and clear a few times during the day. Other than that, I recovered in two or three weeks.

Stay strong!!!

A big hug,

Marta

Marta,

The Covid may be why your inflammation has increased. Covid can linger in the intestines for months, keeping them inflamed, and continuing to cause diarrhea, especially for MC patients.

Grahm
sorry you have had a rough time with the paxlovid

I am still a 'novid'. never had covid.

It is winter here in Aus and there is lots of Covid, Influenza A, whopping cough around, I am avoiding crowds and have boosted my VitD, zinc and Vit C intake. (I have surgery in two weeks so need to protect myself )

stick with bland low inflammation eating and if you can increase your Vit D intake a bit to help the immune system

Hi Connie,

Sorry, I didn't mean to ignore your post, but I'm a novid too, and I hope I can stay that way. I believe quite a few of us have had Covid, and based on the emails I've received from some of them, most of us who have had Covid have been left with a relapse (of MC) that's very difficult to resolve.

I hope you can get your health back soon.
