Egg intolerance

Post by GaGa »

Hi all, I’ve been reading through old posts and came across one where someone asked a question about chicken bone broth if you are intolerant to eggs, which I am. Should I not be eating chicken either? It didn’t flag on my test results that it was problem for me, but the logic behind it makes sense that the egg came from the chicken, so …..?

I’m pretty new to this and trying to find my way around safe foods is a nightmare with so many intolerances. My dietitian has provided excellent meal plans which would be very helpful if I only had 1 intolerance.

Hi,

Welcome to the group. What kind of test are you referring to? If it was from EnteroLab, then that result is probably correct, if it was from any other laboratory, your hunch is correct that you need to be avoiding chicken and bone broth made from chicken bones if you are sensitive to chicken eggs.

For those of us who are sensitive to chicken, turkey is a safe substitute (as long as it hasn't been injected with some sort of "tenderizing" solution), because virtually none of us react to turkey. Note that if rosemary is an additive for turkey, that should be safe, but rosemary extract is not safe for most of us because the extracting agent used is soy oil, and most of us react to soy oil.

Again, welcome aboard. I hope you can find your solutions here.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
