EPIC PHARMA cholestyramine

I tried to refill my prescription today and was told EPIC is no longer manufacturing cholestyramine.

Has anyone else heard this? HockeyMom?

I noticed this when I did an Internet search:

There is a current disruption to the supply of colestyramine (Questran Lite) powder sachet due to manufacturing issues until 30 August 2024.

Other than that, I know nothing about the availability of cholestyramine.

Australia had supply issues of Questran Lite for about 12 months (this ceased about 4 months ago)


not sure what has happened in pharmaceutical world - in Australia at the moment there are 400 medications that are in short supply
in last month there is a chronic shortage of IV saline fluids here in Aus to extent that some elective surgeries had to be delayed.

They now make you nil by mouth 6 hours prior to surgery time instead of 10 -12 hours prior
You can sip water from that 6 hour prior until 2 hour prior surgery time
trying to keep patients hydrated so less IV fluids are used during surgery.

Mine gets refilled with a 3 month supply so maybe I'm out of the loop on this issue? I had no problem with my last refill. Sounds like Tex has done the research on this-thanks Tex! I hope everyone is well...like Tex said, I don't check in that often->I probably just sound like a broken record anyway!!!
