Types of Pain with MC

Post by onebigpill »

While dealing with MC, I've experienced WD and the pain associated with it felt like a dull, ongoing cramp type pain. Like a dull headache in your gut that doesn't go away. I recently tried a magnesium supplement, ended up with WD, and have resolved to never try magnesium supplements again. It will be strictly lotion or oil now. Since then, I've been experiencing a sharp, burning pain "sometimes" in my gut. It happens sometimes when I move, which makes me wonder if it's some strange muscle issue I've never had before or if it's related to MC. Anyone have this experience? It's about one inch to the left of the belly button and down 2-3 inches. Always the same place. Been happening on and off for about a week now. Concerned this could be a complication. Could also just be a pulled muscle. Thoughts?

Thanks,

We sometimes develop our own unique pain patterns associated with MC, and that's a somewhat common location for MC associated pain. It's probably due to trapped gas (it was in my case) and in that location, it probably is associated with MC, and not some other issue. If the pain shows up soon after eating, and can even be felt in back, it may be gallbladder issues. Gallbladder associated pain usually fades away a few hours after eating, after digestion progresses.

We've found that even gallbladder issues tend to resolve after MC is put into remission. I hope this helps.

Hello Unabigpill,

My experience is quite similar to yours. There's that constant, dull pain that never really goes away—it can be more or less intense depending on the day. I wake up and go to bed with it. And then there’s this other pain that you described, which comes when I move around. I can be lying in bed not feeling it, but as soon as I get up for any reason, it starts. I believe, as Tex mentioned, that it could be gas accumulating, and when we move, it shifts and causes that pain.

I also experience other types of pain, like colic pain, what I call "stomach dizziness" (which feels somewhat like nausea), and abdominal muscle pain that happens after an intense day of bowel movements...

Stay strong!
Sending you a big hug,
Marta
