Breakfast or protein shakes ??
Does anyone have any tried & true recipes or suggestions for a breakfast shake? I have the hardest time with this meal. If I don’t have left overs, I’m lost . I thought this might be an answer for me.
Thanks,
Connie

Breakfast???
Connie, I agree that breakfast is the worst meal of the day. I need protein to heal per Gabes advice, so I am going Gung Ho on protein. I eat scrambled eggs and diced ham a lot of mornings. It's good. I consume Smoothies but did not grind up the pecans well enough to slide through my colon. Plus I soaked them overnight. I paid dearly for that mistake. They have to be ground up like dust for me. I put in a well-riped banana, frozen blackberries, and almond milk. I was eating pumpkin pie but that's not enough protein. I have to bulk up on amino acids or protein. I eat Rice Chex, but see it in the toilet not absorbed. Gross!
I too need to know what else to consume for breakfast. That's a great question, Connie. Dorothy

Re: Breakfast or protein shakes ??
Hi Janie, I have no problem with eggs, but I eat them so much...I tire of them in a hurry. I get bored with food. I like a variety and love seafood. Now I am tired of seafood. There is a great restaurant here on Hilton Head Island, SC, and everything is rice. It's called Yoko. They entertain while they cook for you. I informed and they do not use soy. My brother is a farmer in St. Matthews, SC, and grows soy. They cook with it and it made me sick as a camel.
I am beginning to think all my medical problems come from when my daddy was stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC. I know he drank the water in 1950, while serving for the Navy.
Does anybody else have relatives or parents who served at Camp Lejeune? My brother told me he can't read. We are not healthy siblings. Warm Regards, Dorothy

Re: Breakfast
My Entero lab test says I am sensitive to chicken eggs. How is any baking possible that calls for eggs? I found that 1/2 banana can be substituted for 1 egg but not all recipes would taste as they ought to it seems to me using banana for egg.
I suppose until I am in remission…. I need to avoid baking or any recipe that contains eggs…. Then I can add eggs and see if I react??? No breakfast with eggs….. no baking with eggs….? Also recipes with milk dairy (even buttermilk?) needs to be substituted with possibly Almond milk, etc….any safe alternative to cows milk (cow dairy of any kind??)
It’s all overwhelming!!! But it’s a have to!!! I just have to figure out how to!!??

Yes, it's safer to wait until you've been in remission for a while before trying to cook with eggs in baked recipes, because some of us can do that.
Most of us can tolerate almond milk (even if our tests show that we're sensitive to almonds). If you want actual milk that will cause you to react, it will have to be camel milk (there are camel dairies in the US, and the milk can be ordered online, but I don't know of anyone who stride that). Cashew milk may work safely, too. A few of us can tolerate duck eggs, even though we can't tolerate chicken eggs, but that won't work for everyone.
I can recall back when I was recovering, there were a lot of days when my breakfast looked just like my dinner or lunch the day before (leftovers).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
